Strength-based LEAN – that's how it works
In these three videos, occupational psychologist Henrik Kongsbak gives a thorough review of strength-based Lean. Including an introduction to the research behind why it works and how to do it.
The starting point for the method is the two biggest challenges when working with LEAN:
- How to create a culture where people themselves take responsibility for and initiate improvements.
- That with LEAN you often improve on existing processes and therefore don't get to think about enough new things.
From this, the mindset of strength-based LEAN has arisen. The basic idea is that we learn more and faster by focusing on the positive. According to Henrik Kongsbak, our instinctive reaction when we focus on the negative is three things: flight, fight or freeze. If we focus on the positive, on the other hand, we become more involved, searching and even more gifted.
Henrik Kongsbak is a partner in the consulting house Resonans, where he works as a management advisor and consultant, with a focus on the tension between engagement and business. He is co-author of the book "Organisations that excite".
